Transition to Summer Shoes

Going from heavy winter boots to flip-flops overnight? Your feet might revolt.
Potential problems:
š¦¶Plantar fasciitis/Heel pain
š¦¶Ankle sprains
š¦¶Arch pain
š¦¶Achilles tendon issues
Why it happens?
Winter boots = lots of support and cushioning
Summer shoes = minimal support and cushioning
Your feet get "lazy" over winter and suddenly you're asking them to work overtime without preparation.
How to transition safely?
ā Start wearing summer shoes for short periods indoors
ā Gradually increase time spent in lighter footwear
ā Keep your sneakers or shoes with good support for longer distances
Give your feet 2-3 weeks to adapt...they'll thank you later! š£
