Jolène Plourde was born in Moncton, but grew up in Tracadie-Sheila, NB. She started her post-secondary education in nursing at l’Université de Moncton. She then realized that this field was not meant for her and decided to enroll at the Atlantique College of Therapeutic Massage in Dieppe in 2014. Jolène obtained her diploma with honors in July 2016. During her course, she received a certificate in sports massage. She is a member in good standing with the Association of New-Brunswick Massage Therapists (ANBMT) and the College of Massage Therapist of New-Brunswick (CMTNB). She took a class of Deep Flow in August 2017 and did a Cupping Therapy class in June 2018. She will continue to further her knowledge with other classes in the future.
Her approach focuses on the problem rather than the symptoms. She performs relaxation and deep tissue massage during treatments and incorporates other techniques as needed. She treats various conditions such as motor vehicle accidents (MVA), sports injuries, tendinitis and frozen shoulder to name a few. She has an interest in treating temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems and wants to learn more by taking classes in the future to specialise in treating that condition. She also offers prenatal massages for pregnant women. She sometimes volunteers at different events to offer massage treatments.
